| Your main duties will include: •Managing the Industrial Technical Team •Sourcing and managing contract technical resources, when required •Ensuring that all products designed or supplied by the company are documented and comply with the relevant Harmonised Standards, Directives and Legislation relating to Metrology, Safety, EMC, WEEE and RoHS, and any other current or imminent statutory requirements •Optimising Technical and contract resources for efficiency and effectiveness to achieve agreed plans and adherence to agreed budgets •When directed, producing design specifications to reflect new product, product enhancements, or customer application requirements •Implementing agreed targets of design specification including quality, performance, reliability and product cost •Achieving product development, enhancement, factored product technology evaluation, support and customer application timescales as agreed with Product Manager •Maintaining a departmental project and resource allocation plan to allow reporting on progress against targets and for assessments to be made on the potential impact of new development projects or customer applications. Provide regular progress reports to the Product Manager including early warnings of any Technical, Time-scale or Cost problems •Maintaining and implementing current company procedures within the department to ensure that BSI requirements are met in order that the Company accreditation is not threatened •Assisting with the preparation and management of annual budgets and plans to achieve new product release based on the strategic requirements of the Industrial Division •Assisting in the creation, development and maintenance of the company’s Corporate Strategy •Providing appropriate training and documentation on Technical projects with particular emphasis on training in new product for the Production, Projects and Service Departments •When necessary, providing Technical Support for Production, Projects and Service Departments •Monitoring “state of the art” and new technological developments, trends and methods |
