Job Description

Hardware Design Engineer Colchester, Essex £35,000 - £55,000 DOE Plus Company Pension, Healthcare Scheme, Private Health Insurance, Relocation Allowance Our client is a world leader in the design and development of high performance computer products based on Intel CPU technology. Established in 1985, they predominately serve the telecoms, military and aerospace markets. An opportunity has now arisen for a Hardware Design Engineer to join their team. This role would suit an experienced Hardware Design Engineer looking to further develop their career. For the right person, this position offers scope to progress on to becoming a Principal Engineer. Working in a small company environment, in this role you will be involved in all aspects of product design and development. Your duties will include: * designing and developing single board computer products, from definition through to introduction to manufacturing * production technical support * project leading and design reviewing * pre and post-sales backup to the technical support team To be considered for this position, you must have: * a degree (or equivalent) at 2:2 or higher, in an engineering or scientific discipline * experience of designing high speed Microprocessor based hardware Additionally, as a Hardware Design Engineer you will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with others within the company at an engineering level. Whilst not essential, experience of working with Intel x86 hardware would be beneficial to your application, as would a track record of designing for extreme temperatures, shock and vibration.
