The University of Essex has a proud reputation of recruiting disabled students and there are currently over 600 students at the University who have a range of disabilities. We are now seeking an exceptional candidate to join a busy team providing services to disabled students. Your primary role will be to work as Duty Disability Adviser, taking enquires and providing information to students. In addition you will co-ordinate the team of Student Support Workers providing assistance to disabled students e.g. readers, notetakers, library helpers.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a similar role. A commitment to customer service and disability equality is essential. We also require proven administration, communication and time management skills. Previous experience of advising or arranging support for disabled people and/or working in higher education would be desirable. Due to the nature of the job, appointment will be subject to a satisfactory CRB Disclosure check.
